Torque jack is a high torque gear box that replaces the common “S” handle found on most construction trailers.
Torque jack can be used manually but is designed to be operated with a cordless drill. Simply attach a cordless drill with a 14mm socket and pull the trigger for fast and easy jack operation.
Torque Jack HIGHLY recommends one of these drill options:
DeWalt - around 1,050 inch lbs, 3 speed
Milwaukee - 1,200 inch lbs, 2 speed
You want a drill with at least 1,000 inch lbs of torque - this is VERY important!
Please DO NOT use an impact with your torque jack. It is designed to be used with a high powered (1,000 inch lbs of torque) drill for rotational torque, not hitting torque. The gear set is a worm / slave and reacts much more favorably to twisting torque vs hitting torque.
Torque jack works on most square jack equipped trailers. It is designed for single jack trailers.
Hitch / Trailer Prep: It is important to clean and lubricate (grease) your trailer hitch ball and trailer hitch assembly. Ideally, you would be on level ground where the Torque Jack only has to raise the trailer straight up off the ball. In reality though, there exists lateral weight tugging the trailer rearwards or forwards whereas the Torque Jack must overcome this weight and circumvent the radius of the ball itself before it starts lifting. Lubrication of these parts helps minimize this process resulting in better performance.
